Resort-Style Dog Boarding near Goshen, IN

When your dog stays with Bittersweet Pet Resorts, the goal isn’t just supervision — it’s a stay that feels genuinely good for them. That’s been our approach for Goshen-area pet families for over 25 years, backed by veterinarian-recommended care standards and a pet care team with real, hands-on experience.

Goshen pet owners have two Bittersweet locations within reach: our Niles, MI resort at 2100 Weaver Road (about 47 minutes north) and our Kalamazoo Area location at 52291 US-131, Three Rivers, MI (about 47 minutes northwest). Both offer the same resort-quality care, so book whichever fits your route. At either location, dogs settle into private, comfortable suites, get individualized attention from staff who know them by name, and spend real time each day running, playing, and socializing in spacious indoor and outdoor areas. Goshen pet owners searching for dog boarding they can trust are welcome to reach out and see the difference for themselves.

What Makes Our Dog Boarding Different for Goshen, IN Pet Owners

  • Security cameras and monitoring running around the clock, day and night, without exception.
  • A facility kept at a steady, comfortable temperature no matter what it’s doing outside.

  • Trained staff checking in on every dog’s comfort and condition multiple times a day.
  • Care that bends to your dog specifically — their temperament, their habits, their routine — rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
  • At minimum, four trips outside for potty breaks built into the daily schedule.
  • Little comforts that add up: raised feeding stations, plush bedding, and other touches that make the stay feel less like a kennel.
  • Décor and lighting chosen to feel warm and welcoming rather than clinical.

Whether your dog is coming off a morning at Fidler Pond Park or you simply need reliable boarding while you’re traveling, Bittersweet builds real enrichment into every stay:

  • Group Play – Dogs who thrive around other pups join supervised group sessions in a secure, closely watched play space, mixing it up with new four-legged friends.
  • Private Play – Not every dog wants a crowd. This option pairs your dog with a staff member for one-on-one walks, games, and quiet affection, no sharing required.
  • Puppy Package – Younger dogs get extra play sessions layered in along with more frequent bathroom breaks, giving housetraining and good habits a head start.
  • Old Soul Package – Older dogs move at their own pace here, with orthopedic bedding, lighter activity, and staff keeping track of medication schedules so nothing gets missed.
  • Bedtime Pampering – Each night wraps up with a gentle tuck-in routine designed to help your dog settle down calm and content before lights-out.

Health and Safety Standards You Can Count On

Every guest at Bittersweet Pet Resorts — whether they’re arriving from Goshen, Elkhart, or anywhere else in our service area — is held to the same standard of care. Health and safety shape how the entire facility operates:

  • Every new arrival goes through a temperament check before they’re introduced to a group setting, so pairings stay safe and positive from the start.
  • Staff keep eyes on every corner of the facility at all times — nothing runs unsupervised.
  • Dogs get real, individual attention from an experienced team, not just a quick check-in between tasks.
  • Every guest must meet our vaccination requirements before staying, no exceptions.
  • Security systems and climate control run together, around the clock, to keep things safe and comfortable.
  • Air circulation technology keeps indoor spaces smelling and feeling clean, not closed-in.
  • A thorough cleaning routine keeps every space genuinely ready for the next guest.

From arrival to pickup, the focus stays on a stay that’s safe, comfortable, and genuinely enriching — for Goshen dogs and every community Bittersweet serves.

Dog Boarding FAQ

Spotted puppy standing on pink slide at Bittersweet Pet Resorts near Goshen, IN

What vaccines does my dog need to stay?

For the safety of all our guests, we require dogs be up to date on their vaccinations for rabies, DHLPP (distemper), and Bordetella.

Starting July 1st, all dogs will be required to have the leptospirosis (lepto) vaccine in addition to distemper/parvo, rabies, and bordetella. Many veterinarians include lepto within the distemper/parvo combination (often listed as DHLPP), though it may also be administered separately (DHPP).

When can I drop off and pick up my pet?

Check-in can be any time during our operating hours. We recommend dropping off a bit before closing so your pet has time to settle in. You can also check-out any time during business hours, but if you pick up before 12 noon Monday-Saturday you won’t be charged the nightly rate. On Sundays, the day charge always applies.

Our operating hours are:

  • Monday-Friday 7:30 am-7:00 pm
  • Saturday 8:00 am-4:00 pm

Why Goshen Pet Parents Choose Bittersweet Pet Resorts

Known locally as the “Maple City,” Goshen is a place where getting outside with your dog is part of the everyday rhythm, not an occasional errand. Pet parents walk the loop trail around Fidler Pond Park‘s 80-acre pond, let their dogs stretch their legs along the Millrace Trail through downtown, or head out onto the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail, which winds past Rock Run Creek toward the Amish farmland surrounding Middlebury and Shipshewana. Members of the community also make regular use of the fenced Robert L. Nelson Dog Park, and Goshen College’s tree-lined streets add another easy, walkable stretch for a morning outing with the dog.

That same level of care and attention is what Goshen pet owners expect from the people they trust with their dog while they’re away — and it’s exactly what Bittersweet Pet Resorts aims to deliver. Whether you’re headed out of town for work, a weekend trip, or just need dependable boarding during a busy stretch, our Niles, MI location is about 47 minutes from Goshen (or our Three Rivers location if you’re coming from the northwest side of town), and both offer the kind of resort-quality care that lets you leave with real peace of mind.

    How to Get Here

Goshen pet owners have two nearby Bittersweet locations to choose from, depending on which side of town you’re coming from and which fits your schedule better.

To our Kalamazoo Area location (Three Rivers, MI): From Goshen, head toward W Pike St and follow IN-15 N and M-103 N up to N River Rd in Mottville Township — about 24 minutes for 16.3 miles. Turn right onto N River Rd and continue for roughly 7 minutes (5.3 miles), then turn left onto US-131. From there it’s about 16 more minutes (14.1 miles) to Bittersweet Pet Resorts – Kalamazoo Area at 52291 US-131, Three Rivers, MI 49093. All told, plan on around 47 minutes and just under 36 miles.

To our Niles location: From Goshen, get on US-20 W in Concord Township and stay on it for about 15 minutes (7.8 miles). Continue on US-20 W into Bertrand Township, then take exit 3 from US-31 N — this stretch runs about 29 minutes (31.8 miles). From the exit, continue on US-12 E for a final 3 minutes (2.4 miles) to reach Bittersweet Pet Resorts at 2100 Weaver Rd, Niles, MI 49120. Total drive time is about 47 minutes covering roughly 42 miles.

Both locations offer the same resort-quality standard of care, so Goshen families are welcome to book whichever is more convenient.
